About Us

Atanas Vasilev is the founder and CEO of ATIS-USA, Inc. He is a PMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL 4, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and AWS certified IT leader with more than 20 years of experience in IT management, systems engineering and delivering IT projects in the United States and Europe.

Atanas began his career in Germany in 2004, working his way up from IT specialist to systems administrator. There he managed a network of 250 servers and 200 workstations across four offices and two data centers, supporting 24×7 operations. Alongside that work, he advised small and mid-sized businesses in the Cologne/Bonn region as a freelance IT consultant, and he earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Bonn.

After moving to the Washington, DC area, he led IT for organizations across the region. As IT Manager in Washington, DC, he rolled out identity and access management across ten global sites and designed hybrid infrastructure with backup, disaster recovery and business continuity built in. In Alexandria, Virginia, he re-engineered IT processes to the ITIL 4 standard and maintained infrastructure in line with HIPAA and GDPR. Most recently, as Associate Director of IT Project Management in Germantown, Maryland, he led five teams delivering a portfolio of 70+ projects a year, with a 95% on-time, on-budget track record.

In 2023, Atanas founded ATIS-USA to bring that same enterprise discipline to small and mid-sized businesses across Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland. He stays personally involved in service delivery for every client, and he shares his expertise with the local business community, including presentations on cybersecurity and disaster recovery to the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
